Visiting Strasburg

“The Gateway to Amish Country”

“Come rest your head upon our bed.” Garver House Bed and Breakfast is your destination to relax, rejuvenate, and be pampered. Strasburg is also proud to feature a variety of attractions for your enjoyment during your stay.

Strasburg is considered to be “The Gateway to Amish Country” and is just a short drive from numerous Amish attractions. Our staff will be happy to provide you with free maps and details of the Amish area. Tuscarawas, Holmes, and Wayne Counties boast the largest Amish population in Ohio and the United States. Come stay with us, and enjoy the beautiful rolling hills and valleys this area provides. Amish country is not only beautiful, but it is also rich in craftsmanship. Food, furniture, woodwork, quilts, and crafts are just a few things for which the Amish are well known. The Tuscarawas Valley area is rich in wineries, cheese houses, and mouthwatering bakeries. The Amish are hardworking and industrious. They also have strong faith, and therefore their businesses are closed on Sundays.

Since the Amish community is quiet on Sundays, let our staff help you with a fun-filled itinerary. Tuscarawas County has much to offer visitors seven days a week. Numerous golf courses dot the countryside; museums and historical sites are all open; and outdoor adventures such as hiking trails, nature centers, and canoeing are also available.

Phillip Garver always said the key to his success was “friendliness,” a tradition that continues to live on at Garver House Bed and Breakfast.
