Powder Room Update

Garver House-purple flowerAs you may or may not know, the Garver House has a Powder Room off of the dining room.  Al and I normally do not show this room to anyone since it is in bad need of an update.  The sink works, the toilet works but the shower does not and we knew this when we bought the house. Since this is the only main floor bathroom we use it ourselves when we get tired of running up and down the stairs!

We are now into the beginning of our fourth year of running The Garver House Bed and Breakfast and are always looking for new opportunities to expand the business.  In 2013 we have hosted a few dinners, a progressive dinner, some ladies luncheons and a Christmas Tea!  I am looking to expand on our teas with the next one taking place on Mother’s Day weekend.  The Tea will be Friday and Saturday May 9th and 10th at 12:30 pm.  Three or four varieties of tea will be offered along with a soup, salad, entree and dessert course.  After the meal each participant will have the opportunity to make and take a Mother’s Day craft suitable to  give to Mom or keep for yourself.  The cost for the Tea and craft is $25/person (all inclusive).  Bring you Mom, sister, cousin, Aunt, girfriends and join us for a fun afternoon!  For more info call 330-878-4113.

And now back to the bathroom!  Since we are offering dining experiences to guests who may not spend the night because they live local, a bathroom is needed for their use while dining with us.  I am excited because I get to put my creative juices to work decorating again!!  The bathroom is now torn apart, the shower is getting fixed and new tile will be laid.  The bathroom currently has a half tub, unusual as I have only seen one before.  The half tub is staying since it is vintage!  The half tub is pink, so I will have to be creative to blend in the pink with the other ideas swirling around in my head!!  Stay tuned as I will post before and after pictures when the project is completely finished.  In the meantime make a reservation for the Mother’s Day Tea.
