Since our last child has left the household for her new career in nursing, Al and I now have the opportunity to offer an additional room here at The Garver House. The newest room at our beautiful Strasburg Bed and Breakfast is the Warther room.
As in the past Al and I try to name our rooms here at the Inn after local historical attractions in the area. A trip to Warthers Museum is a must when visiting the Strasburg area. Ernest “Mooney” Warther, Master Carver built his workshop in 1912 which is still used by family members today. The museum displays 64 working ebony, ivory and walnut train carvings. All of Ernest Warther’s working models are hand carved using no electrical implements, a hobby that required a keen eye and attention to detail and a lot of patience. An amazing work of “Art” that is almost foreign to the technology savvy world we live in today. Warther’s also offers professionally made knives for sale in their gift shop, the knives are made by hand on the premises and a viewing room at the museum offers a glimpse of the detail to craftsmanship that makes a Warther knife one of a kind. Visit their web-site for more details. Warther’s Museum: http://warthers.com/
The Warther room which is bright and sunny is decorated in blues and yellows. Located in the back of the house on the second floor the Warther room is peaceful and serene. A antique extra-long double bed and oak dresser add to the character of this room. The Warther room also includes an old fashion ice cream table and chairs. A comfortable upholstered chair is a relaxing spot to catch up on your reading.
The Warther room does not have a private bathroom at this time. This room must be booked along with another room at The Garver House and share a bath. The Warther room is an ideal room for small groups traveling together who may not mind sharing a bath. Families, girl friends, the guys golf or hunting outings would be a perfect fit for the new Warther room. As always anyone staying at The Garver House will enjoy all the amenities we have to offer such as a hot gourmet breakfast every morning, the coffee bar on the second floor foyer (right outside your door), and luscious homemade dessert every evening. Enjoy a stay at The Garver House Bed and Breakfast in Tuscarawas county, Ohio. “Too much fun for just one day!”
